Special Senate Meeting
April 19, 2019 –
Article V.1 of the Constitution of the Faculty of Purdue University Northwest states that the Senate “may be convened for special sessions by the Senate Chair.” Accordingly, as announced at the November 9, 2018 meeting of the Senate, I am calling for a special meeting of the Senate to be convened at 10 a.m. on April 19, 2019 in Hammond SUL 321. Please mark your calendars.
The purpose of this special meeting is to allow the faculty to respond to the Final Reports of the two Strategic Resource Allocation Task Forces. These reports are to be released on April 12, 2019—a date in which the Faculty Senate will hold a previously scheduled regular meeting. By April 19 the faculty will have had a week in which to digest the task force reports. The Faculty Senate Bylaws stipulate that “Only subjects specifically listed in the proposed agenda for a special meeting may be considered at that meeting.” Accordingly, at the April 19, 2019 meeting the only business will be discussion of the SRA Task Force reports.
